The official images of the production-ready Hero XPulse have surfaced online, indicating an imminent launch in the Indian market. The production-spec model isn't different from the concept shown at EICMA2017. Once launched, the Royal Enfield Himalayan rival will be the cheapest Dual Purpose motorcycle in India.[gallery size="full" ids="4420,4421,4422"]The XPulse sits on a diamond frame chassis which also underpins the upcoming Hero Xtreme 200R. It makes use of a box-section swingarm and a monoshock rear suspension at the rear, and telescopic forks at the front. While the front end will feature a 21-inch tyre with the forks at a 190-mm travel, the rear tyre will be a 18-inch unit with 180-mm travel.[gallery size="full" columns="5" ids="4423,4425,4424,4428,4429"]
Major features of the XPulse are full LED headlight and rearlight, high ground clearance of 220mm, all-digital instrument console, luggage rack, knuckle guards, underbelly bash plate, upswept exhaust and first-in-class turn by turn navigation.[gallery size="full" columns="4" ids="4427,4443,4431,4430"]Powering the motorcycle is a 200cc, single-cylinder engine from the upcoming Xtreme 200R which delivers 18.4 bhp of power and 17.1 Nm of torque. However, the engine could be in a different state of tune and with different sprockets. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Braking duties will be provided by disc brakes at both the ends with single channel ABS system.
